I still can’t believe we are here in 2021 already. Our 2020 Wedding Season was not exactly what we anticipated yet incredibly special. After such an impactful year, we have so much to appreciate and reflect on. Even so, Nikkels Photography has grown despite these hurdles. I think it is safe to say it was a wild year for every single one of us.
My heart goes out to the thirteen couples that had to postpone, reschedule or even cancel their weddings altogether because of Covid-19. Whether it was saying goodbye to that dream guest list or residing to the fact that their big day might not be that big of a day after all, they all pushed through unforeseen circumstances. Planning a wedding already has a lot of moving parts, let alone redoing these two, three, or now four times for some of our couples. Through all of the highs and lows, they’ve had the best attitudes and for that, I’m truly grateful. You are by far, the most resilient.
Even with a global pandemic, my team and I were still able to shoot 10 wedding celebrations. We have shot weddings in San Luis Obispo, California; Thousand Oaks, California; Malibu, California; Moab, Utah; and all over the Central Coast this year, and were able to capture some pretty spectacular moments.
I’m so honored and blessed to have been able to work with THE sweetest and generous couples in 2020, and created some very special relationships as we navigated this new territory together. The communication was just overall amazing considering this different type of year that affected the wedding industry.
Of course, their commitment and love for each other gives me so much joy and makes my job that much more rewarding.
I couldn’t be more thrilled to start 2021 off with a full calendar of new brides and grooms that are ready to start their lives together. Although I’m just the girl behind the lens, I get to freeze the most beautiful moments in time. Moments that steal our hearts and make us new and better human beings. These moments can only be summed up as pure happiness and I can’t believe I get to witness it all the time. The only thing more enjoyable than capturing love on camera is sharing it with all of you.
