Lauren & Zach got married on a crisp fall afternoon with their family’s and close friends at the Cypress Ridge Pavillion. Some of my favorite moments were Zach seeing Lauren for the first time and having a live painter during the ceremony. Also, when I heard Cupid Shuffle playing, I ran to the dance floor and joined Lauren. It is my jam!! They ended the night with a sparkler exit. Their relationship is sweet, kind, gentle, and has lots of funny inside jokes. It all started back as friends.

HOW THEY MET

Lauren and Zach met in 2009. Lauren was a sophomore and Zach was a freshman at Orcutt Academy High School. The two became friends quickly, with Lauren starting a tradition of baking him cookies every year around the holidays. After Zach graduated high school, he joined the military, where he lived in Belgium for two years from 2014-2016. Zach and Lauren remained in touch and made sure to see each other whenever he came home on leave. Once he was stationed in Maryland, the two were able to keep up a more consistent correspondence.

During all this time, up until 2018, Lauren was under the impression that they were simply friends… Zach had a different idea in mind. Once Lauren came to the realization that there could be something more, they decided to hang out when Zach came home on leave in December. But this time with the notion that something more than friendship could be on the table. The first time they saw each other Zach pulled the typical “arm around the shoulder” move – hilariously obvious, but Lauren allowed it. Day two made her quickly realize that upgrading Zach from ‘friend’ to ‘boyfriend’ would be one of the easiest choices of her life. The upgrade to fiancé was even easier. Zach and Lauren became engaged on December 14, 2020, nearly two years to the day that they started dating.
