Meet the Couple: Mel + Justin

They met on a blind date set up by one of her best friends, Tori, whom she has known since kindergarten. Tori had been trying to get Melayna to join dating apps to meet people, but that was never something that Melayna wanted to do. She knows a lot of people have met the love of their lives through dating apps, so she knows it can work. But she always wanted to try to meet someone in person.

Justin started working as an RVT at the same pet hospital as Tori and immediately she thought that they could be a good match. But she wanted to wait a little bit and get to know him more. She waited a month before finally telling Melayna about him and asking if she could give him her number to which Melayna said yes. They texted for about a week and then met for brunch that following Saturday. After they closed down the restaurant, around lunchtime, they decided that they didn’t want the date to end yet and ended up going to a nearby park where they talked for 7 more hours.

They realized that they had a lot in common. Things like the same favorite baseball team, love for the beach, and similar close-knit family backgrounds. So they never ran out of things to talk about. Their first date was a total of 9 hours long and they haven’t looked back since. Melayna thanks her best friend, Tori, for every chance, she gets for introducing her to the love of her life.

According to their website, Shallow Creek Ranch “offers a charming historic barn and stunning coastal views that provide the perfect backdrop for your celebration.” After experiencing Mel and Justin’s wedding, I don’t think that I could have described it better if I tried.

They have three different wedding spaces. The first is their historic dairy barn. Whether you are wanting more of a rustic reception or you are holding a reception, this Swallow Creek Ranch barn is PERFECT. Behind the barn, they have the Sea View Meadow which makes for the most incredible ceremony and wedding portrait spot. Lastly, there is the Hilltop Amphitheater that will have your ceremony feeling like you are somewhere in Iceland.

Seriously, the Swallow Creek Ranch is absolutely MAGICAL.
