This intimate destination wedding in the middle of a National Park in Utah was one for the books! I met Sara and Jason a couple of years ago at Danielle & Travis’s wedding. We were the photographers and Sara was a bridesmaid! As soon as they got engaged, Sara reached out and I was elated to capture this special day for them! They are the sweetest and most thoughtful people you’ll ever know. Sara also replanned her entire wedding in about a month from California to Utah. And it turned out perfectly!
You could feel how much they are loved from the moment we walked in. So many happy tears!! Their ceremony was atop the mountains at Dead Horse Point State Park. I was speechless when we arrived. The views don’t feel real. So if you haven’t made your way to Moab, Utah, you are missing out on some spectacular views, food, and art!
Here is the story of how they met from his and hers side:
Sara and I met on Halloween night in 2008 when she came into CVS with her friends while I was working. I was new to working there so I didn’t know she worked there also. A few days later and I finally got to work with her, and before we knew it we started hanging out and then dating. As time went by it didn’t seem to work out in our favor and we ended up breaking up.
Shortly after that, I left CVS to start my career in welding. Sara and I stayed friends and I would stop by her work to say hi from time to time. I should have seen there was a reason I couldn’t stay away. One day in 2015, I stopped by to say hi and after she was off work we ended up staying up all night talking and catching up. It made me realize just how much I missed her, and the rest is happily ever after.
The first time I met Jason was Halloween of 2008. I was 16 and had been working for Longs Drugs for a few months. My friends and I went into the store that night to get a few things, we were dressed in some pretty ridiculous masquerade costumes, and he was new to working there. He was cute, and charming and probably thought I was a weirdo, but that didn’t stop me, I knew I needed to be his friend.
We started dating not long after that night. He very quickly became my best friend and favorite person to adventure with, he would stay up all night on the phone with me until I fell asleep. As we all know, life can often get in the way of things, and that was no different for us. We parted ways but stayed friends for many years after the relationship ended. I stayed with Longs/CVS and he left to pursue his career.
He would frequently stop by the store to check in and say hello. My co-workers would always tease me after he left saying things like “how do you not see that he likes you”. Then one night he came to visit, and something was different. He waited for me to get off work, and we talked all night. It was like no time had passed, and we were right back where we were when I was 16 and in love. We are still going strong almost 6 years later and I thank goodness for every single day that I get to spend with him, and our two amazing dogs Rosco and Koda. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life adventuring with this man who texts me “Good morning” every single day, still makes my heart skip a beat, and can make me laugh like crazy.
