The other day, I was talking to a fellow California Wedding Photographer about the concept of weddings and things that I always tell you, as my couples, to remember on your wedding day.

As we talked, I realized that many of us photographer, although we serve different people, have a lot of the same experiences. Honestly, it made a little bit sad to think about how many couples aren’t able to 100% focus on their love and relationship on their wedding day… Brides and grooms alike!

Because of this, I have created a list, as a California wedding photographer, of five things to remember on your wedding day.

LET’S DIVE IN!

3 Things to Remember on Your Wedding Day | A Note From A California Wedding Photographer

3 THINGS TO REMEMBER ON YOUR WEDDING DAY

I am sure you are aware of this… But, if not, let me be the one to tell you that your wedding day is one of the most special times of your life. It is a day where you and your significant other are able to commit to loving each other for the rest of forever.

Cheesy? Probably, but it doesn’t make it any less true!

ONE | GET A GOODNIGHTS SLEEP THE NIGHT BEFORE

Leave the last minute preparation to the wedding coordinator or your maid of honor! I mean, it is what they signed up for… RIGHT?!

All joke aside, the last thing you want to be on your wedding day, is tired! The day of your wedding will already be a lot to take in, and you will be constantly flooded with emotions… WHICH TIRES EVERYONE OUT.

So, put your phone away and catch those much needs “Zzz’s” the night before.

TWO | RELAX

Relax and breath and give yourself grace. A big day comes with a lot of big feelings. Guess what? All of those big feelings are justified and valid.

If things are getting a bit too stressful, take the time to breathe. Maybe, still your significant other away and have a moment with just the two of you.

Listen to your favorite songs.
Eat some of your favorite snacks.
Watch part of your favorite show.

This is your day. Deal with those big feelings how ever feels comfortable to you.

THREE | DANCE… ENJOY YOURSELF

I am pretty sure that I have said it at least 100000 times already, but I am going to say it again…. THIS IS YOUR DAY.

As a Wedding Photographer, I find that so many couples don’t think that they aren’t allowed to have fun. While their friends are on the dance floor, they are tucked back in the corner watch them. Or, while everyone else is eating food at the reception, they feel like the food isn’t for them.

Let me put all of the specualtions to rest.

ENJOY YOURSELF. Eat the food and bust a move. I promise that those are the things you will want to remember on your wedding day.
