I have put together a list of 5 things you can do to uplevel your wedding photos!

I don’t know about you, but I was SO stressed when my husband and I were getting our wedding photos taken! These pictures will travel with you through every aspect and season of your life and marriage, and you want them to be perfect! I promise I get it 100%!

1. HAVE ALL DETAILS SET ASIDE

By this, I mean all of the little details that you want your photographer to capture! These could be your rings, your invites, your bouquets, etc.

Having all of these in one location means that your photographer can jump right into details without bugging you as you get ready. This doesn’t seem like a huge deal, but it can be a total game changer!

2. USE TWO DIFFERENT SETS OF CHAIRS

Let me explain this one a little bit! When I say two different sets of chairs, I mean different chairs for the ceremony and the reception!

Also, if possible, try not to use white folding chairs!

I know this one seems a little bit extreme, but you would be amazed at the difference it makes!

3. DON’T PUT CUPS OF WATER, ETC. ON THE TABLES UNTIL RECEPTION DETAILS HAVE BEEN CAPTURED

I know you want to get the setup done quickly, but I promise that you’ll thank me later! Most photographers are pretty quick when it comes to this part, so waiting will only set you back an itsy-bitsy bit!

4. SAY GOODBYE TO THE STANDING MIC

Standing mics are big and bulky, and you don’t want them taking all of the focus away from you on your big day! Instead, use a lapel mic on the officiant, the groom, or anyone else that needs it!

Another option is to use a handheld microphone!

5. ORIENT YOUR CEREMONY FOR THE BEST LIGHTING

Photographers are the BEST at determining where the best lighting is! If you have the option to choose your location, Don’t be afraid to ask them for advice when it comes to where to hold your ceremony!

PRO TIP: Photographers love when the sun is behind the altar.

3 Bonus Tips

1. Draping

Without a doubt, this can completely transform a space! It gives you the ability to create fun accent walls, a ceiling look, or even some texture to your ceremony site.

2. Bridesmaid Dresses

Bridesmaid dresses are a big deal, and I recommend keeping them long. As it matches your dress and your them, every image automatically feels elevated!

3. Reception Tables

I swear rectangle tables photograph better than round tables! For some reason, they come out so much cleaner!
