After postponing due to the Covid-19 pandemic travel restrictions, Kelly and Matt came down for their engagement photos. We ventured to one of my favorite spots that always has magical light, the Pismo Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove. Tip: If you are wanting to see the butterflies during the migration through the central coast, be sure to go to The Monarch Butterfly Grove between November and February.

I had so much with these two and we were laughing the entire time! We talked about their pup, Zoey and their love for going out to eat and wine tasting. Sign me up for all the above! I cannot wait for their Summer wedding at Oyster Ridge later this year.

Here is how it all started back in January of 2014!

Matt and Kelly met at Cal Poly through mutual friends. After hanging around in the same social circles for a few months, they began hanging out just the two of them. She loved his easy-going nature and fantastic sense of humor. He loved her undeniable charisma and down to earth personality. Once they went home for the summer and couldn’t stand the idea of not seeing each other, they knew this was something special.

One night after a date at the Alameda County Fair (Matt even went on rides that he refers to as “death traps” because he knew it would make Kelly happy), they were at the In-n-Out drive-thru when Matt noticed that Kelly was being uncharacteristically quiet. When he asked her what she was thinking about, she blurted out that she had been referring to him as her boyfriend. He smiled and said, “okay, good!” The two have been together ever since.
