Mari & David had their Italian-inspired wedding at the stunning Calipaso Winery and Villa. Tucked away in Paso Robles wine country, this beautiful bed and breakfast is a perfect spot to tie the knot. Some of our favorite moments was when Mack, their pup, stole the show as the ring bearer, sharing their vows intimately with each other, and then seeing the packed dance floor going all-out!! The energy all day was fun, relaxed, and present.

HOW THEY MET

JULY 2015

They met at work in Chicago-within a couple of months we were carpooling and finding every excuse to hang out. Before long, California was calling and they took on the challenge of dating long-distance from Los Angeles to Sacramento. A quick couple of years later they finally were able to move to the same city, Long Beach. Shortly afterward, they adopted our pup, Mack. Fast-forward to 2022, and they are loving their home in Walnut Creek.

THE PROPOSAL

AUGUST 2020

After staying at home and social distancing for many months, David planned a ‘birthday trip’ to San Luis Obispo, a beautiful town in the CA Central Coast about 4 hours north of LA. We packed the car up, put Mack in the backseat, and hit the road for our first Covid-compliant trip of 2020. David planned a scenic hike the next morning and popped the question in front of a stunning lookout at San Simeon point.

SO WHY DID THEY PICK PASO ROBLES?

APRIL 2022

Paso Robles is about 30 minutes east of San Luis Obispo and is CA’s hidden gem for experiencing wine country. You’ll find rolling hills of vineyards, tons of different wine styles, craft breweries, and lots of friendly locals. If wine isn’t your thing, then escape to a nearby beach town. Their favorites are San Simeon, Avila Beach, and Morro Bay. Or go explore on one of the many hikes to see the county from a different angle.
